Mr Paulin writes: I enclose a list of snowstorms that have fallen in or about Dunedin since the year 1888, and the amounts of melted snow and rainfall collected by myself at Opoho. 1888, July 7, 13.—Hoary snow up-coun-try ; onlv rain in Dunedin ; rainfall 9.05 in. 1895, June 9 and 10.—Sin ; very heavy in back country. 1895, July 29 and 30. —Sin in Opoho; very heavy in back country. 1898, July 30 and 31.—6 m at Ojolio. 1898, August 12 and 13. —-Heavy snow on Bast Coast (none MI in Dunedin). 1899, July 23.—6 in at Opoho; heavy snow on East Coast. 1901, April 27.—3 in at, Opo-ho. 1901, July 2 and B.—Very heavy snowstorm s ; IJft at Signal Hill. 1902, October 18 and 19.—Snowstorm (Sunday, 19th), 6in at Opoho. 1903, July 10 and 11.—Heavy snow j all wires down both north and south. ISO 4, August 1 to 4.—Hoary enow ; 9in at Opoho. 1908, July 6 to B.—Heavy snow atNaseby, sft; only rain in Dunedin, rainfall 4.37 in. 1918, June 30,—3 in at Opoho; very heavy snow East Coast and Canterbury.
