As the ont-oomo of Senator Gardiner's recent declaration during a speech in the Domain that he would bo Fisher’s last man, Brigadier-general Jobson offered £lO to any recruiting agent who would secure .-enutor Gardiner's enlistment. The latter presented himself, and nominated Mr Riley, a member of Parliament, as recruiting officer. Brigadier-general Jobson duly paid the £lO, but Senator Gardiner, on presenting himself for medical examination, was rejected. »
