The 'Daily Chrojiick'V Amsterdam correspondent says: The general meeting of th'j .Daimler Motor Company was a mournful event. The Chairman "said that, since it had been placed under military control the prosperity of the com piny had been endangered, 'it pays £1.550.000 taxation C'S com pared with Knmps' payment of £1.500,000, though Knipps was an infinitely bigger concern. The bank balance in 1916 was and was now £15,800.000, although £7/00.000 had been advanced from the militarv authrrities. A dividend of 30 por cent, wovld he kept iip by the company drawing upon their capital.
