Tho '2\ T orth Otago Times' gives further particulars of the death from exposure of Mr George .Stringer, -while engaged in savins sheep on the Otckaike Peak, part of his sheep run. Accompanied by Mr Ashton, he went out at about 4 p.m. on Monday, shortly after which a very heavy snowstorm commenced. They were seen at dusk on a heavily-snowed face, but as they did not return'at nightfall, a search parly went out early next morning, and found Mr Ashtort suffering severely from the effects of tho intense cold ana exposure, who narrated a terrible story. Mr Stringer had been seized with cramp while crossing a creek, and had been unable to proceed, urging his companion to seek assistance. Mr Ashtort hastened in what ho thought was the direction of the homestead, but lof-t, his way in the darkness and iinfamiiiar snow-covered country, and wna found by file search party in a very bad way miles in the wrong direction nest morning. By his directions they found Mr Stringer's body at the place where he had ka'ied. Deep and widespread sympathy will be fe'.t by all in North Otngo for the sad end of one who was a prominent figure in the society of 'nia district, and was admired for his many fine ouMiliess. He leaves a widow 'nee Miss Robertson, of Taicnrahi), but no children. The late Mr Stringer was shortly to have undergone his medical examination for the Flying Corps, all arrangements i'ov his entering that service having l>een made.
