ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
Ernest Leidh, was killed at Tahakopa, in tho Gatlins district, yesterday through a tree failing on him. Leidh was working in the employ of tie saw-milling firm ol Wikdit, Watson, and Harrington, and was a widower with no relatives in New Zealand. . , , ~ , A New Plvmouth message states that the body of' Mrs Osborne, wife of tho Kev. S. S. Osborne, was found in Pukekura Park lake this morning. She had been suffering from a nervous breakdown, which was aggravated by the loss of a son at the front. Mrs Esther Woods, a- widow aged 60, residing at 19 Cornhill atroet, North-oaat Valley, died suddenly last evening. She was on! tie way to the houec of a Mr Twyford, in Chatham avenue, and,became distressed after ascending a long flight of steps. Shortly afterwards she collapsed, and died within ' a few minutes. The Coroner has decided- that no inquest is necessary.
