A British effort to land near Hodeida (on the Red Sea coast) failed, since when the •ii, coasting trade has not been ,interrupted. The Press Bureau comments upon this: The Turkish Yemen garrison has long been cut off from the outside world. The Hodeida incident probably refers to a successful raid by our Red Sea patrol .ships on June 12, when a small landing party captured the entire Turkish post of one hundred men, with two mountain guns and three machine guns. CAIRO, January 8. General Allenby has arrived from JeruTileni, and has been enthusiastically, wolomed.
