RECORD TOTALISATOR INVESTMENTS.

Although the programme for the Auckland Racing Club's Summer Meeting waa confined this year to three days, the investments on the totalisator were less by only £29.304 than the total for the four SB£ nL last -r ar ' s meetin S- The total of easily constituted a New Zealand record for a three days' meeting. It showed an increase of £27.551 on the total for the corresponding three days last year, when, £200,373 was invested. The figures for the three days, compared with the totals for the Christmas and New Year racing m 1916-17, are as follow: 1916-17 1917-18.

In addition to the former percentages a special war tax of 2£ per cent, as prescribed by the Finances Act, 1915, was imposed on dividends, so that the Treasury derived an additional sum of £5,128, or a total of £10,826 in all. ""
