MAIL NOTICE.

Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Dunedin, as under :

Until January 12, 1918, mails will be despatched daily by the relief, express tram leaving Dunedin for Christchurch at 11.15 a.m. North Island mails will connect with the ferry steamer at Lyttelton on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The mails will close at this office at 10.30 a.m. Late-fee letters, 10.40 a.m. No-late-fee letters can be posted at the railway station for the relief express. Late-fee letters for north and south expresses may now be posted in pillar posting box in front of railway station. Mails for South Sea Islands, by next available steamer.

Mails for United Kingdom, Expeditionary Forces abroad, America, and all oversea countries, including Australia, will be despatched from time to time by the best route without special notification. Letters, usually superscribed "Via Suez "_ should now be superscribed " For first direct steamer."
