CITY POLICE COURT. (Before H. A. Young, Esq., S.-M.)' A Street Fight.—Joseph Sutherland and William Daly were charged with using threatening behaviour, whereby e breach of the peace was occasioned. "Sutherland was also charged with damaging two panes of glass, valued at £2 10s, the -property ofEmaline Hammond.—The Sub-inspector said that the accused) were concerned in a" disturbance 'in Cumberland ,street, near Albany street, at about 6.10'0n Saturday night. A third' man was also present. Daly challenged Sutherland to fight. The challenge was accepted, and then the disturbance commenced. Daly seemed to be getting the better of the fight, and Sutherland, who was carrying a bundle of wood, threw it at Daly, but it missed him and went through a window.—Daly said that the row was between Sutherland and another man. Sutherland followed witness, and hit him with a stone. He then struck Mm.—The accused were each fined 40s and expenses or seven days on the charge of committing a breach of the peace. Sutherland was ordered to pay the damage (£2 10s), or seven, davs, on the second information.
