GREEN ISLAND WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION.
Wrok is quietly progressing at tho rooms. During the week a parcel containing 18 undershirts, 11 anti-vermin shirts, 3 daysliirts, 24 housewives, 24 soap bags, 24 tea towels, 12 handkerchiefs, and 100 Dominion parcels were sent to the Earlv Settlers' Hall. Finished work handed in: 13 flannel shirts, 2 dozen service bags, 14 pairs socles, 1 cap, 3 dozen housewives, 40 soap bags, 1 dozen tea towels, 1 dayshirt, 24 pairs socks. School quota: 15 handkerchiefs, 14 service bags, 25 tea towels. As quite a number of socks will be required before December, tho committee would be pleased if those who knit would make a special effort to get as many as possible done during October and November. A word of praise is duo to Miss Allen for a box of woollen baby clothes- Shirts and undershirts are still wanted, and workers will be cordially welcomed. The following sent donations-.—Dominion parcels: Mrs Alexander, Mrs Holmes, Miss Kirkland Mrs P. Smellie, Mrs R, Hill, Mrs King, Mrs P. M'Lean, Mrs Taverner. LadyLiverpool: Mrs Orr, sen., Mrs Brocki'e (clothes), Mrs Davey (Walton Park, books), Mr D. Stewart, £1 2s 6d (proceeds of night's entertainment).
