DIPTHERIA AND FOREIGN CHOCOLATES.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —The rumor contained in the Bluff
‘Press’ on the above subject is manifestly incorrect, for if the fact had been as represented the whole of New Zealand would have been one hot-bed of disease, and every school in the colony would have been closed. Further, the troops abroad and in camp would all be down with it, and possibly thousands dead ere this. Rumors of this kind do considerable injury to tradespeople selling confectionery.—l am, etc., CIC. October 6.
