COST OP LIVING

THE PROBLEM NOT SOLVED. [From Our Parliamentary, Reporter.] WELLINGTON, October 6. The report of the Cost of Living Committee will be presented to the House on Monday overiing. Several interesting recommendations will be made, but the report generally will likely prove to be disappointing. Several impressive forecasts of the committee's work and intentions have been circulated, and it has been suggested that a Food Controller will be appointed. The report itself will show that the knowledge of some of the methods adopted at Home has prompted speculation about what is to be done in the Dominion. It can be safely anticipated that the Parliamentary Committee's suggestions will not solve the problem of the Cost of Living.
