OVERSEAS CLUB
After a very busy fortnight, during which a large number of Christmas parcels were packed and despatched to our boys on active service, work-for the convalescent hospitals in England was resumed, and a very creditable amount of work was got through. Friends of the club are reminded that the room in Jameson's Buildings, Lower Stuart street, is open for work, and that once a week a member is in. attendance to answer inquiries, receive donations, etc. Several cases of local distress have been relieved lately through the agency of the district nurses and the sisters. Donations monetary: Mesdames Law, M'Kerrow, Duncan, Mr A. J. Blakeley. Goods: Mutual Stores, Normal, High Street, and Highcliffe Schools (including a pair of socks knitted by James Brunton, aged seven years. Clothing: Brighton, Town Belt, Anon. Magazines, Mr Macfie. Stencil plate, Messrs Swan and Co.
