The share market was quiet this morning, and only a small number of lines were quoted at the first call on ’Change. In investment stocks National Banks had a buyer at £5 3s, and a seller at £5 Bs, while the old issue of Bank of New Zealands was sought after at £l2 4s, but sellers were asking £l2 7s. National Insurances were again inclined to be slightly easier, there being a buyer for these shares at £2 18s, with a seller asking £5. Hud-dart-Parkers were on the market at £1 12s 6d, with buyers quoting £1 11s 9d. Mosgiel Woollens were quoted at £4 15s and £5, buyer and seller respectively. In the mining section of the market WaihiPaeroas appear to bo attracting a little attention, these shares being wanted at 12s, with sellers asking 13s 3d. Talisman Consolidateds, Waihis, and Waihi Grand Junctions all had buyers and sellers at recent prices. Quotations:— —Dredging.— Electric—Sel 2/. Bewley presiding, the head master’s report for September stated that the number on the x'oll was : Boys 366, girls 306. The average attendance for the quarter was : Boys 334, girls 273. Mr Walton (third assistant) left at the end of the month, and Mr Finlay is relieving in his place. Tire Visiting Committee reported that everything in and around the school was in a satisfactory condition. Messrs W. Wright and A. W. Duncan were appointed a Visiting Committee for the month.
