(Received October 5, at 11.15 a.m.) French communique: There is artillery activity north of the Aisne and on both banks of the 'Meuse; otherwise our line; are comparatively quiet. VOLUNTARY ENLISTING. Twenty-six youths of 19 or over went before the doctors at Kensington yesterday. One was pronounced temporarily unfit,‘and the following were passed :—K. A. Braraley, E. F. F. Lucas, W. E. Andrews, A. Martin, J. Wyllie, J, P. Christenson, L. F. Kncwstubb, W. E. Holmes, J. L. G. Watson, R. Shepherd, F. A. Grace, H. E. Wills, W. C. Lucas, R. B. Henderson, W. Fraser, R. F. H. Rendel, A. Keilar.
J. W. Taylor, whoso name appeared in Tuesday's list of those called for sendee, reached his 20th birthday last month. He enlisted, but was rejected.
