INFORMATION REFUSED. [Pee United Peess Association.] WELLINGTON, October 5. At a meeting of the creditors of A. W, Schaef, who recently had judgment given against him in a slander case concerning two young women, the bankrupt declined to give any information as to what he had done with money he had drawn out of the bank in the last few weeks. Ho said ho realised that he ran the risk of going to gaol, but he was prepared to take it out. Eventually he declared that he was tho subject of a conspiracy. He admitted that he had obtained £1,500 above the mortSon the sale of recent property, but led to say what he had done with the money. The bankrupt refused to sign his evidence, and counsel for tho creditors asked that steps should be taken to bring the bankrupt before the Supreme Court.
