SUBURBAN POST BOXES
In May the Post Office authorities stopped tho midnight clearing of three boxes—ono at the comer of Edgar and Mount streets, Halfway Bush; another at Rutherglen; the third at Royal crescent, Upper Kow. * ’ Orders are now given that 10 more of the boxes are to lose the midnight clearance—lslington street, North-east Valley; Clifford - street, Dalmoro; Pine Hill terrace ; Carnarvon street, Belloknowes; top of Hawthorne avenue; corner of Elgin road and. Clyde avenues; Mary hill terrace;. Haywood street, Momington; Alva street. City, Lower Pacific street. Mr King, chief postmaster, says that Iho business at these boxes does not warrant the expense of a midnight clearance, so each of these 15 boxes will now be cleared only once in tho 24 hours, somewhere between 10 and 11 a.m. It is further notified that the box at Sneddon’s store, Momington, is altogether closed, and that the box hitherto standing at the comer of High and Grant streets is shifted to the comer of High and Melville streets.
