RESTRICTING THE SALE OF LIQUOR
T!io following resolutions are to be proposed at a public meeting, convened for Monday evening, for the purpose of considering (he curtailment of drinking during the continuance of the war;— That this meeting of citizens of Uunedin, being satisfied that, in order to win the war, it is essential that throughout the itnipire every mean.; should be adopted to secure the maximum of efficiencr •*— military, commercial, industrial, and ,«bW all airs, and to reduce private expenditure, and a.so the demands upon the means of transport. And, being convinced that the restriction of the hours of sale of intoxicating liquors would assist in these directions more than any other single reform urgently request the Government to paic am] introduce into Parliament, at the earliest possible date, a Bill to reduce the bouts for sale of liquor to the hours from. 8 ociock a.m. to 6 o’clock p.m, K.C.M G) g Prcmior Allen.
