CHARGE OF MURDER

[Per United Press Association.] HAMILTON, April 27. At the Magistrate’s Court this morning, before Mr Rawson, David Morgan Leckie alias Morgan, a one-armed man, was charged that, on or about 16th April, 1917, at Hamilton, ho did murder Albert Ryan, who was found in an unconscious condition with a fractured skull in the Frankton Junction Hotel on 16th April, and died two days later. Senior-sergeant Cassells said tho police evidence would practically be the same as that given at tho inquest. Under cross-examination Drs Noonan and Douglas stated that they had seen no signs of old wounds or marked depressions in the skull of the deceased. Dr Douglas said the results which he had seen on tho body of the deceased may have been produced by falling out of bed or falling against the bedstead.
