After undergoing an extensive overhaul at Wellington the Chatham Islands Fishing Company’s steamer Hiraitangi sailed from Wellington on Tuesday evening for the Chatham Islands to load stock and general cargo for Lyttelton and fish for Wellington. The vessel will visit Owcnga, Pitt Island, AV hangarua, and Kaingaroa. The Kowhai completed discharging tho balance of her limber cargo from Oroymonth yesterday. THE TARAWERA: Tlio Tarawere an-ived at Dunedin at 10.30 a,m. to-day from Auckland and East Coast parts, and was bei thcd at the Cross wharf to discharge, several hundred tons of cargo, and to load a sliiomeiifc of general merchandise. Tlio vessef made tlio run from Lyttelton, a distance of &04 miles, in the creditable lime of hours. The Tarawora is now timed to sail at 4 p.m. to-morrow for East Coast ports and Auckland, THE MONO AVAL Tlia Monowai left her berth at tire Birch ntroot wharf at 6 a.m. to-day. and .steamed down to Port Chalmers, where nho will lay up until coal supplloa are available. During hor stay at Port tho vessel will dock for cleaning and painting and oil necessary repairs effected. It is expected that she will resume her usual running in tho Dunedin-East Coast-Auckla-nd service as soon as a supply of coal comes to hand. STEAMERS OUT OF COMMISSION. Inquiries made kt tho bend office of the Union Company to-day elicited the information that so far nothing definite has yet been decided upon ay to when tho ferry steamer Maori will bo recommissioned. The vessel is still on the lay-up berth .at Wellington. Tho collier Komata is also still out of commission at AVcllington, and no orders have been received yet for that vessel. NEW UNION STEAMER ARMAGH. Tho Union Steam Shin Company's now steamer Armagh, which lias been launched at Homs, is practically a sister shin to another vessel which has visited Nfew Zealand. When the war started tlio Armagh was in tho builders’ hands, but owing to the rush of war vessels, she has, for some considerable time, remained in a state of semi-completion. Now, with the sudden decision of tho British Government to build cargo vessels she Las been completed.
