JOHNSON REVUE. Another large audience enjoyed the double hill at the Princess Theatre last night—-one of revue and vaudeville. The Johnson Company, in the big laugh success ‘The Railway Tangle,’ arc on the pinnacle of popularity—merited jiopularity at that. The last two evening performances are announced, and there will be a matinee to-morrow. ‘CINDERELLA’ AND THE SOLDIERS’ FUND. In tli© King’s Theatre lad, night a larcm audience thorougjlilv enjoyed the fairyopera ‘Cinderella,’ as presented by Miss G. Helen Gardner’s juveniles, in aid of the returned soldiers’ funds. The little players have become quite accustomed to their parts, and everything goes smoothly and with charming brightness. The songs and_ dances are very'pleasant, and the spirit of youth dominates all. The opera will he presented to-morrow afternoon anil evening. ‘ SEVEN KEYS TO BALDPATE.’ The box plans for J. C. Williamson’s coming comedy season will be onened at The Bristol Piano premises to-morrow morning, at 9 o'clock, when seats for any of the three plays mav be reserved. The management have had raauv substantial demonstrations of the Dunedin theatregoing public’s demand for comedv, and. acting on their experience, thev ’are inaugurating a. season of five nights at His Majesty s Theatre on Tuesday ovenim' next, with George M. Cohan’s thrilling and sensational mystery farce, ‘'Seven Keys to Baldpatc,' which' is to be staged for three nights. It is described as a tremendously fascinating play, that grips and holds the audience from 'the first word to the final denouement, and adds further fame to the author’s creative genius ns a playwright. The adequate interpretation of the numerous and complex characters is said to make heavy demands upon the artistic abilities of the performers, and in this respect Mr Robert Greisr, who personally selected the players, has, it is stated, achieved a triumph. The J. C. Williamson clientele can hardly cavil at the cast that lias been secured to do justice to this production, seeing that it contains the pick of the Australian favorites, and has added distinction in Mis? Beatrice Holloway, who was here as leading lady with Mr Fred Niblo. In addition to the two principals, the company includes Edwin Lester, J. B. Atholwond. Herbert Leigh, Guy Hastings, Kenneth Brampton. Olive Farnham, Thomas Lloyd, Raymond Lawrence, Harold 'Moran, Charles Wheeler, Marion Marcus Clarke. Esther Mitchell, Violet Yorko, Mrs Chas. Holloway, and Violet Wray, Next Friday night ‘A Pair of Sixes’ will he staged, and for the last night of the season (Saturday, May 5) ‘ The Travelling Salesman ’ will be presented. The three productions are said to reflect credit on the producer, Mr Robert Greig, who has as stage manager Mr Charles Wheeler, and a full orchestra will bo directed by Mr Hayden Beck.
