PORT CHALMERS REPRESENTATION. The election for two members took place yesterday, resulting: T. Scollay 554 J- Tait 487 D. M. Mawson 421 A. Campbell 391 J. Powell 55 Informal •,., 36 In thanks, Mr Scollay referred to the need for a harbor policy which would provide against post-war developments in the size of ships.—Mr Tait said he would use his best endeavor to merit the confidence placed in him in respect to harbor matters.—Mr Mawson said he was not concerned about losing his seat on the board.—Mr Campbell said that although unsuccessful he would be prepared to again offer his services. The voting fo.r the Westport Harbor Board was : County : Mr G. Griffiths. 681; Mr J. H. Powell, 469. Mr D. J. Williams (chairman of the board) was defeated. Town: Messrs Arthur Leaver and W. T. Slee were elected.
