DUNEDIN EXCHANGE. Dredging and mining shares showed a slight improvement on ’Chance this morning Electrics were wanted at 3s 3d sellers asking 4s. Ladysmith (cuutrib.) had sellers at 6s, Rise and Shines at 19s and Rising Suns at 19s, but no bnvers were quoting lor any of these linos. Talisman Consolidateds were placed on offer at 8s 6d, and Waihis at 34s 6d, but failed to elicit any response. Waihi Giand Junctions at 14s 6d had buyers at 14s. and -Mount Lyolls were wanted at 26s lOd,’ with sellers asking 27s 3d. Investment shares liac o been freely quoted since business was resumed on Thursday, and prices have been fully maintained. National Banks have advanced slightly, and both issues of J»ank of Xcw arc firm at provious figures. There have been bnvers for National Insurances at £2 14s 6d, and sellers mr Standard Incur,mccs at £1 17s 9d, but no sales were transacted. Union Steams (ord.) are firm at £2 4s 9d and £2 5s 3d, buyer and seller respectively. Bin" ers tor ordinary Huddart-Pa-rkers have been quoting at. £1 4s 9d, with p-T-ers askmg £1 5s 3d. The coal strike on the West Coast does not amour to bo havin'* any appreciable effect’on Westport Coal Company’s and Wostport-SioektoiTs share;, winch have remained steady. Milbnrii Lime and ( cmcnls are firm, and were placed on offer to-day at £1 14s. p,,,. the ordinary issue of New Zealand Portland Cements there have been buyers on the market at 12>. but sellers ■wanted 13?. Bruce Woollens wore looked for to-dav at £1 5? 6d. and ordinary Oanwrn Woollens continue in demand at £1 8 S 6:1, but no sellers were, quoting for there shares. Mosgiel Woollens had buyers to-day at £4 3s 6d. and the preference issue of Kaiapoi Woollens was wanted at £6. but sellers were again scarce i’.-.r these lines M’Loncl’s Soaps were firm on the market this morning, there being a buver at £l4 12? 6ci. but no pdler came forward.
