Urging that raihvaymen should be employed to their fullest capacity at the present time, Mr M. .7. Mack, 'at Saturday's sitting of the Third Military Service .Board at Wellington, referred to man -who, disrated through some slight indiscretion, were at present holding positions much below their capabilities. " " Supposing there were a strike of railwayman tomorrow," he asked the district traiiic manager, " would you not bo glad to employ these men in better work?" On receiving a reply in the affirmative, and that it was being done to a certain extent, Mr Mack exclaimed : " Well, now that there is a strike against the nation, should jyoii not do bo all the more?"
