FURTHER BRITISH SUCCESS
IN KIT ENVIRONS.
LONDON, February 18. An official message from Mesopota-nia states : AYe made an offensive on Thur?clav on the right centre at the Dahra. bend on the right bank of the Tigris, and scc.ired our objective on a I,7ooyds front. We extended our gains bv dropping bombs to a depth of oGOyds on a I,oooyds, ii out. repulsed a counter-attack. We made an assault later on the left centre, and secured our objective on a front of 850 yds. During the Me cleared out the enemy from the sr- all areas, securing the whole of the I);,lira bend.
We took prisoner 89 officers, of whom two regimental and three were Lattalion commanders, and 1.905 ,nen.~ Our booty includes five machine guns. 7;io rifles, and large quantities of ammunition and stores.
We advanced on Friday I.2Covds southwards of the Srnniran loop, and are now holding the south-west corner of this bend.
