There was a. slight abrasion over his right- eyebrow, half an inch long in transvetso direction and a. quarter of an inch vertically; also an abrasion ov; r the right side of the occipital butte. Ho was pap to bod at, once, and wiihin an hour ilia patient became unconscious, showing signs of extensive hemorrhage of the brain. He died about 4.50 p.tn. He did not scout to know how he came by itis injury. ’Witness assisted Dr Roberts at a post mortem examination. Under Che statp thev found a Severe bruise, with extravasation of liloou above the left. ear. Anoiinr severe bruise was found under the scab) over the occipital bone. There was a, blood riot covering the whole of the left side of the brain, as well as the whole of the, base of the skull. There, was a large linear fracture, from the left ear round to two inches beyond the middle line. Practically a!! the other organs were normal. The cause of death was fracture, of the skull and hemorrhage, caused by serious direct injury, such as a violent fall.
l3r Roberts, who had conducted the post mort em examinal ion with Dr Howie, corroborated Dr Tiowic's evidence as to the conditions found and the cause of death.
