It is to be regretted that you did not continue your method to an exhaustive point. No. 887 is quite sound in our opinion, though very difficult. " G.S.M.M.”—We are duly acknowledging your problems in this issue. You no doubt enjoyed the key move of No. 888, though the same was “ catchy.” “Dr T.K.D.” (Scone, Scotland). —Your solutions of 16 problems received, and all the keys and remarks are correct. The problem that you submit for an opinion from us will be examined later, and the result of our analysis reported in this column. Many thanks for reference to quality of problems and games.
