Savill. at.'.d Albion liner lonic was do- at Ho'oart on Monday, and was expected to rail again on Tuesday. She is due at Auckland, about Sunday afternoon. The City of Agra left New York on September 3 for Lyttelton and Dunedin. After discharge here she will proceed to Australia. (.'*. IT. Scales. Ltd., have been advised that ike barque Eona reached San Francisco last Saturday from Auckland. The now schoeuer Hazel Rerton. which r: is been purchased by a, New Zealand linn, sailed from Newcastle on September 10 for 17\ Helton, where she is due at any time. Tho Hazel Ronton is well known in the Australian interstate trade, and is commanded by Captain Harris. She will shortly be fitted with a set of Diesel engines, but il is not known as yet in what t'-ade she will be engaged. THE FERRY SERVICE. The Maori arrived at Lyttelton at 7.15 a.m., and connected wiih the first express. STEAMER ALBANY ASHORE. Advice was received at Auckland vesfcidiiy that the steamer Albany had drifled ashore, near Mnriwai Creek.'on the West Coast, about 20 miles north of Manuka, She is si- small vessel, and is well known in Auckland, having been engaged for time in the Auckland-Albany trade. Tho steamer was proceeding to Tunkan (Waikato). and her engines "had given trouble for some time. It is stated that- th-y broke down and . that the Albany drifted to shore. It is thought that she has not been damaged. A WIRELESS RECORD. Wireless Operator Ormistnn. of lhe Oceanic Steamship Company's Ventura. set himself out scire time ago to create a record iu long-distance direct transmission messages, and has met with success (stater, the Sydney * Morning Herald "). On September 13 the Ventura sailed out of Honolulu Harbor. 4,650 miles from Sydney, and at / ; »..ui. the samo dav the wireless station, Pennant Hills, received a message from the Ventura via Honolulu \\-iroless_ station, to Mr V. A. Sproul. the agent of the steamer at Svdnev. reading : "Left Honolulu at 4 p.m.' September 13."
