The winners pity off the final on Thursday. FORBUEY TROTTING CLUB. The committee met last night, Mr G. Hodges presiding. Appointments were made for tho season : Mr H. Brinkman handicapper, (Mr W. F. Dunne starter, Mr T. Lcedham judge, Messrs L. G. Hazlott and W. J. Gore timekeepers, Mr T. Elliott treasurer, Mr F. Carter clerk of course, Mr C. R. Caffin clerk of scales.

Resolved to call tenders for the priv leges.

_ The Programme Committee were authorised to draft the spring programme; stakes not to exceed- £2,300. Letters were received from the Trotting Association and the New Brighton Trotting Club asking the Forbury Club to choose another name for the forbury Trotting Derby, a-s the name “Derby” can be used only once in the South Island, and it was understood at the conference when this vr-.a passed that the New Brighton Club were entitled to the name, although the Forbury Derby was approved by the association.—Resolved to comply with the request; the question of finding another title to be remitted to the Programme Committee to report. The sum of 10,es was voted to the Otago A. and P. Society for’ a prize at the summer show, Mr Ritchie and Mr Elliott to confer with the society as to tho allocation.

Four new members were elected. Mr J. C. “Whiteman, of Christchurch, wrote that Mr M, Higgins, the patentee of the starting barrier, would be in Christchurch this week to install the machines, and suggesting that tho club appoint a delegate to see it working.—Resolved to write to Mr Higgins direct, and invite him to bring the apparatus U..and slve it a trial w-
