CARPATHIANS AND DOBRUDJA,

LONDON, September 3. A German communique states : In the Carpathians, in South-east Galicia, south of Zielona, the Austro-Germans encountered reconnoitring troops on both sides of the Bystritza.

At Zborow, and also at Birzfeny, enemy attacks Ayere repulsed. In connection with the Russian activities in the Carpathians the communique admits that the enemy stormed the Ploska heights. A Bulgar-German force has crossed the "Dobrudja, border (oetween Bulgaria and Rumania), between the Danube and the Black Sea, and scattered the Rumanian frontier guards.
