MARY PICKFORD m 'HEARTS ADRIFT* .Mary Pickford, who is one of the most popular artists on the screen today, appears at both the Octagon and King Edward Theatres to-night in a drama entitled ! Hearts Adrift,' in which Mary Pickford portrays the character of Nita, ,a little bpa.ni.sh girl, who is the soio survivor of a. shipwreck, which occurs just off one of the South Sea Islands. The little ono survives the ordeal of the shipwreck and the hard life- of the uninhabited island. Some years later a wealthy couple, tiw Grahams, who arc travelling on their yacht, are also shipwrecked near this island. Their yacht burns, and husband and wife are separated, and each foars the other has been lost. Mrs Graham is put into a boat and her rescue effected, but her husband, like Nita, is washed ashore on the desolate island. ' The film ends with a. love story i'ollowed by a tragedy. During the screening special selections will be rendered by the orchestra, whilst Mr J. A. Wallace, L.T.C.L., will render violin soli. The box plan is at -The Bristol, where, judging by the advance bookings, a successful season is assured.
