The action was in respect of the Gordon road crossing, and a serious accident was narrowly averted.—Hugh Gamble was fined 10s and costs (7s) on each of two charges of failing' to send his child to school.—The Defence Department proceeded against Howlett Havelock Kennedy, George Rutliven, Andrew Elliott, and Rowland Hitchon for not attending drills; but the cases were withdrawn.
