Mary Pickford, aptly termed "tho world's sweetheart," will 'make her appearance in Dunedin on Saturday at the King's Theatre in an exquisite picturisation °nf John Luther Long's _ classic, ' Madame Butterfly,' one of the 'tendereet character creations ever conceived The picture is one of tho Famous Plavers' well-known high-class productions. The cast includes Mary Pickford. .Marsha! Neilam. Olive West. Jane Hall, Lawrence Wood, Caroline Harris. M W. Rale. N. T. Oarloton. David Burton. Frank Bekum. and CseseroGravina. Mary Pickford as Cho-Cho-San. tho little Japanese maiden, is said to surpass herself in any of her previous characterisations, and will no doubt add to the large number of her admirers in Dunedi:i. The scenery and photography are said to be on a most lavbh scale." Dunedin citizens will have the opportunity of being the first to witness this picture in New Zealand, the film having come direct from Sydney. It has been screened in the largest theatres in Australia, and is said to have had the longest run of any picture ever shown ihereT A special orchestra will play music suitable to the picture. No pains have been spared to present this production in the manner in which it deserves. The first session will start at 2.3 C on Saturday afternoon until 530. The evening sessions will efcart at 6.30, then on till 10.15. The picture is in live acts, and there are special supporting subjects.
