(Received August 16, at 10.25 a.m.) The New South Wales Government are introducing a Bill to impose harbor dues on tramp steamers. It is expected to realise £26,CCO per annum by this. Mr Black stated that instructions had been issued proliibiting the holding of meetings for or against Conscription. NEW ZEALAND CLYDESDALES’ WIN. BRISBANE, August 16. At the Queensland Show, in draught stallions, Royal Scotch was champion, King George second, and British Hope third. All these are New Zealand-bred horses. FIRE AT BOTANY. SYDNEY, August 15. A portion of Bayley’s tannery at Botany was destroyed by lire. The damage is estimated at £IO,OOO.
