r A' FULL DIVISION

ON THE TPRES SALIENT. GENERAL GODLEY COMMANDS THE ANZACS. Tha Hon. James Allen, Minister of Defence, states that New Zealand has now a full division, numbering over 20,000 men, on the western front. They hold_ trenches in the Ypres salient, and are in the thick of the fighting. General Sir W. R. Birdwood, who commanded the Anzac Army at Gallipoli, formerly had charge of our men on the western front, but he has taken over a new.command. Lieutenant-general Sir Alex. Godley, general officer commanding the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, has succeeded General Birdwood in command of the Anzac Army Corps. Major-general Sir A. H. Russell (a New Zealander) commands the New Zealand Division.
