TURNED TURTLE
The culli'ion between, the American liner Philadelphia and the mailing "esse l . Ben Lee. of Liverpool, had a tragic sequel. The Br.n Leo was being towed into Holyheadl Harbor by two trawlers and a tug on January 31. On board tho Ben L«e were Captain Roberts, Lloyd's agent, several local pilots, and others. All went well until the vessel Tra's within about 200 yds of her intended "ocrth, near tho Trinity wharf,in tho harbor, wh<?n suddenly, without warning, she turned turtle and dis-. appeared with startling rapidity. A married man named Edward residing in Baker street, Holyhead, who was apparently down lwlow at the time, was missing, and all efforts to find the body failed. The others, after swimming about for a little time, were rescued by | various boats. A local pilot boat alongside, containing two men, was sucked down whcMi the vessel sank, and one man named Williams, when rcsued, was found to be badlv injured. Both were very exhausted.
