On the outbreak of war Enentzmann was elected president of the' society. After that doubts about his administration of the society's funds were raised, and he was forced to resign. Other things subsequently canlo out. and Kuentzmann is to bo court martialled.

At the outbreak of war he employed' as his secretary a man called. Spitzer. since proved to be a German agent. Between them they had access to lists of all the families in German Alsace and Lorraine whose son's had enlisted in the French ftrmy.
