CURATIVE TREATMENT
FOR DISCHARGED SOLDIERS. [Per United Pbess Association.} WELLINGTON, April 11. In future every man who has been a soldier and discharged will, in tho event of sickness supervening arising out of a wound supposed to have healed, or any other form of illness, be entitled, on the application of tho Health Department, to receive curative treatment in exactly the same way as if ho were still a, soldier. This matter Avill lie administered by officers of the department throughout tho Dominion. Each applicant will be examined by the medical officer for the district who acts for the department, and he must promise in writing to subject himself to discipline the same as if he were n soldier. The Minister of Health estimates that the department will be able to handle 2.000 men when the rush takes place at the end of tho war.
"Sheila" forwards us 8s on behalf of the Belgian relief fund. We have to acknowledge the receipt of £4 5s 6d from Sargood, Son, and Ewen'fs boot factory employees—their 57th. weekly contribution to the Belgian relief fund.
