ANZAC DAY
PROTEST AGAINST RACE MEETINGS. [Special to the ' Stae. '] CHETSTCHURCH. April 10. At a meeting of the Christchurch Ministers' Association held yesterday resentment was expressed at tho fact that a race meeting was to be held in Christchurch on Anzac Day, and the following resolution was sent 'to the Prime Minister : —" That in view of the request of the Government that Anzac Day should be regarded as a day of solemnity the Christchurch Ministers' Association resent the fact that the clay should be devoted in Christchurch to racing, and regard it as an affront to the memory of the dead.
