Vo made progress along the communication trenches northward of Caiileltc Wood (south-east of Douaumonl). J)ur scouting aeroplanes in the Verdun district brought down a double-motored aeroplane near Haubl'mimeaux Pond. Another enemy machine fell near 'Filly Wood. A third dived vertically to the. ground. A French air squadron dropped 14 bombs on the Natitlois railway station, and five on the Damvillers bivouacs of the enemy.

In the House of (..'■ominous, replying to a question, Lord Robert Cecil (.Minister in ( barge of the Blockade.) said that as the war progressed it became clear that the list of contraband must be extended. The Government -proposed to add a- large immlver of articles immediately.
BREWING LESS BEER,
LONDON, April 5. (Received April 6. at 1.55 p.m.)
In the House of Commons the President of the. Heard of Trade (Mr Rumanian) announced that fioil! April 1 the output of beer would he reduced by 28 per cent. compared with that of 1913-14. A Bill to give elfoct to this would be introduced next week. This reduction would he equivalent, to a restriction of browing imports by about 35j per <enl.
