A communique states : There is a certatt slackness in the enemy’s attacks on the forts north of Verdun, except between Douaumont and the high plateau north of Vaux, where a powerful' attack on our positions was repulsed. Our troops are closely encircling the enemy sections ■which obtained a foothold there, and the enemy are holding the ground with difficulty. The opposing artillery has rendered Talon Hill untenable to ns or the enemy. The Germans in the Woevre have established contact with our outposts towards Blanzce and Moranvillc, whence their attempts to debouch towards Hill 255 failed. .An enemy detachment at the Sefiones district. was shelled and dispersed.
