OTAGO MOTOR CLUB

The first hill climb of the season organised by the Motor Club was held at Anderson Bay on Saturday. Aiternoon tea was provided by the club under the .supervision of Mr'W. Gibb. The general arrangements were organised by .Mr G. Trott and the secretary. TJio club's thanks are due to a local resident (Mrs Johnstone) for assistance in several matters. The racing was of a very fair order, but some riders were inclined" to take the corners too wide. F. M'Dohald rede well and with judgment, and was by far the best in the light-weight class. *His time was only two seconds slower than the fastest time of the day, which was registered by E. Strain on a 4 horse-power Triumph. M'Donald riding- a 2% horsepower Douglas, was beaten bv A. Scott, on the formula used, by the narrowest margin. M'Donald on the same machine attached to a. side-car won decisively the side-car class, mak ; ng the fastest time against 3-J? and 4i horse-power machine?. A. E. M'Dougall, the winner of class 2, put up a good performance, getting very sharply off the mark, and quicklv working up his pace. W. Davies also rode a goed race, and was unfortunate in not getting amongst the prize-winners. Mr F. J Lough was starter. The electrical timing' which proved a. great boon and worked faultlessly, was provided and worked by Captain K J. Lacey and his assistants. The following are the results: Class I.—A.
