At tho monthly meeting of the Educational Committee of the Otago Expansion League, hold in tho secretary’s office las! evening, Mr W. Davidson presiding, th< following resolution was carried : —“ Thai this committee note with sincere regret the death of Mr G. 0. Israel, who spent t lifetime in furthering the interests of tb< young people of tho educational district ol Otago, and whose death will be a groai loss to tho community; and, further, that a letter ho forwarded to Miss Israel oxpressing tlie sympathy of the commit l tee.”
Tlie following resolution was passed a! a meeting of the trustees of the Dun edin Savings Bank yesterday:—“ Th( trustees of the Dunedin Savings Bnni record wit!) deep and sincere regret thi death of their esteemed colleague, M; George Cash more Israel. During tne shorl period Mr Israel has sat at this boart his colleagues have learnt to _ appreciate his soundness of counsel and diligent atif conscientious work.. They desiro also t( express their deep sympathy with hi) family in their bereavement, and dirod that a copy of this minute ho-.sent U them.”
