Brack in's New Zealand Trotting Cup candidate Eccentric, who is well forward and doing all that he is being asked to accomplish. The Australian, bred pacing mare Adelaide Direct, engaged in the New Zealand Trotting Cup, was tried out by her owner-trainer, M. Edwards, over two miles this morning at New Brighton, and although pacing well over the first part of the journey she failed to run on at the finish, tiring badly. A Sydney cable message says:— Rumors, started as the result of his not appearing on the training track, that Wallace Isinglass, the A.J.C. Derby favorite, is amiss are denied by his trainer. Prior to winning the Rosehill Guineas the colt fell in the street, but it is stated that he was not injured in the slightest. The colt has resumed training. The Wellington Lawn Tennis Association have decided nob to play provincial championships or interchib competitions this season. A metropolitan tourney will be held for the benefit of the patriotic fund.
