ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
Mr Xeil M’Leod, of Brydone, was severely injured on Saturday "afternoon (says the correspondent of ‘the ' Southland Times’). He was walking through a paddock on his farm where the dairy herd was grazing, when a bull attacked him unexpectedly, and gored him. Before Mr MT.-eod could be rescued ho received serious injuries, several ribs being broken and internal injuries feared. The animal was destroyed.
The body of a man about 30 years of age was found in the scrub on Mount Victoria, near the_ Kilbirnio tram tunnel, at noon to-day, with a revolver in the right hand and a bullet wound in the head. In the pocket was a Bootmakers’ Union book with the name Samuel Sloan.—Wellington telegram. " °
