A special general meeting of the-guild in called for September 20, at which, the following 'resolution will bo tabled : " That, owing tt> the reduction in the direct purchasing value' of the sovereign, present wages and conditions are unbearable, arid it is proposed to notify employers that,'unless they immediately concede the terms claimed in January, 1914, together with the difference in" wages from tho date of that claim, also additional increases varying from 2£ to 20 per •cent., member's, of"the guild will .withdraw their sea-vices .until conditions are properly adjusted."
