The usual meeting of committee of the Victoria Jubilee Convalescent Fund was held in the Town Hall on Friday: pre-sent-Mrs C. W. Rattray (in the chair), Mesdames O'Neill, E. C. Revnolds, Johnston-Brown, and Miss Z. Ross. The ueual routine business was transacted. The following subscriptions were received :—Mrs Geo. Roberts,' 10s 6d: Mrs Johnston-Brown, 10s 6d. The widowed mother of Private Barber, of Wilmslow, was so overcome by excitement and joy at her son's homecoming that she had an apoplectic seizure and died.
