The annual meeting of the Royal Arch Chapter was held in Otago Lod«e P/xmi on August 27. There was a good attendance of officers, but a verv ~ or . 1 ance of members, due, perhaps, to the late Friday night. R.A.D. Bro. D. 1' u Millar occupied the chair. Three ' new members received their P.A. degree The Lily of the Valley Lodge wrote offering to present the Beazley banner to the chapter lor competition. The offer was accepted. It was also decided that, if possible, the meetings of the chapter be h«ld in future in the Ivanhoe Lodge Room and also that if this room is available to hold a special meeting to confer decrees towards the end of November. The Otago Lodge meeting was well attended on Wednesday 1 evening, when A.D. Bro. Gordon welcomed members of other lodges to an evening's entertainment of progressive euchre, which was keenly contested, and resulted in D.P. Bro. A Wilkinson carrying off the first prize, and A.D. Bro. Burrows, of Ivanhoe, the booby. The business of the evening did not take long, allowing the members and visitors more time to their amusements The quarter ended August 25 showed that the ledge had made very fair progress and it was noted that, considering the present state cf affairs of the Empire, the members had met their dues in a promptmanner, the gain for the quarter being £7l 4s 4d, and the membership beim>- 246 financial. Two brothers.at the front°were' kept good on the books. D.P. Bro. A. Wilkinson paid an official visit, and received a hearty welcome.
