Ac ihe adjourned annual meeting of the Chalmers Licensing- Committee this afternoon tho following publicans’ licenses were renewed : —J. M'Cluskey, Portobello Hotel ; A, M. M’Rohie. Railway Hotel, Mosgiel : E. M ‘Kowen, Marine Hotel, Port Chalmers; A. M’Kcgg, White House Hotel, Henley. The following- applications were adjourned for a month, "to onab.e specified improvements to be. carried out J. W. Warden. Port Chaimer/ Hotel.- N. M‘Donald, George Hotel, Poi\ Chalmers; K. Mackie, Crescent- HotelCarey Bay: E. Godfred, Chick’s Hotel'. Port ( hahnevs: J. Mathoson, Mosgiel Hotel. _ In respect to the Provincial Hotel, Port ( mihuers. the license was granted on vtiiiiiii.-ou that a new building he erected, and that- the work be at least started in that tune. Air Lang said the now building would probably cost £2,500, but the work would lie gone on with.
