At the annual meeting of the South Canterbury Farmers' Union the chairman (Mr .lohn lalbot) expressed the opinion that the. wheat area next harvest would be double that of the last, fho high prices and the shortage of feed for sheep beinir two impelling causes. It was decided to write to Mr Massey pointing out that middlemen were apparently making moremoney out of frozen meat than was reasonable. The opinion was expressed that the Government should have taken the vholo thing over and bought the meat off the hooks instead of f.0.b., as skina were becoming more valuable.
